Archtools is proud to announce that we are now working in collaboration with Battiferro di Maniago, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of archaeological trowels and is now the main official distributer of Battiferro Archaeological equipment in the UK. Our Battiferro Trowels now have the www.archtools.co.uk stamp on them to mark this collaboration.
Battiferro di Maniago is a family run business based just outside Venice, Italy. They have been producing quality tools and equipment since 1957. In the 1960’s Battiferro began producing tools commercially and have been on the cutting edge of product development and high quality design ever since.
As a leading producer of solid forged archaeological trowels, it has maintained a reputation of quality and reliability. Archtools is proud to be closely involved with a brand that has shown not only innovation in new product design but also in its commitment to quality and manufacturing in the EU.
As part of the agreement between two of the leading players in the Archaeological equipment market, Archtools will advise, help in the development of new products and carry out field-testing of existing products. This will to ensure our customers are not only supplied with the highest quality products on the market but gain access to new products as soon as they become available.
The first step in this co-operation is the development of two new products.
The Sharpened Margin Trowel and the ground breaking Women’s Archaeological Trowel. Thanks to feedback from our staff and customers Archtools saw the pressing need for archeological equipment designed for women, after years of having to make do with trowels designed with men in mind. Working closely with Battiferro we designed a trowel that is aimed solely at female archaeologist or those with smaller hands.
Features like a less bulbous handle, lower tang, and lighter weight ensure that is easier to use than other archeological trowels but still retains the strength and precision needed for archaeology. In celebration of the launch of this new product Archtools will be donating 50p from the sale of this trowel to a UK Breast cancer charity.
